This Ford Falcon part is the tailgate release handle as found on all models of the 1960-1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero, Station Wagon & Sedan Delivery. It is also correct for all models of the 1960-1965 Mercury Comet Staion Wagon.

It is replaced by breaking off the old handle and placing the new metal retainer on the metal shaft and then pushing on the new plastic handle.
